The Washington Coal Club is pleased to announce its March 13, 2002 meeting will feature Barbara McKee, Director, Office of Coal & Power Import & Export, Office of Coal and Power Systems, Office of Fossil Energy, U.S. Department of Energy.

Barbara McKee is the Director, Office of Coal & Power Import & Export, Office of Coal and Power Systems, Office of Fossil Energy, U.S. Department of Energy. The Office of Coal and Power Systems is responsible for strategic direction of research development and demonstration product lines related to coal and power systems technologies. The Office of Coal & Power Import & Export’s mission is to promote U.S. goods and services in the international marketplace, regulate transborder electric power generation, and provide electric power regulatory assistance. She is currently the Vice Chairman of the International Energy Agency (IEA) Clean Coal Center, which is located in London, England, and is an organization of more than 15 nations and she served as its Chairman from 1994 to 1998. She is Chairman of the IEA Working Party on Fossil Fuels which functions in Paris, France, and has 21 member nations. She also is Chairman of the World Energy Council’s Committee on Cleaner Fossil Fuels Systems.
